Creative Grounds, Alfie O'Sullivan

Poems Ago have a gift for bringing words to life through music, creating performances that are both evocative and accessible. Their work bridges the gap between literature and sound, making poetry feel immediate and relevant to modern audiences. They are dedicated to collaboration and community engagement, always looking for ways to involve new voices and perspectives in their creative process.

Bio

Poems Ago is the songwriting duo of Juliana Hahn and Remco Jacobs. Two musicians, dwelling in County Wexford, Ireland. Drawing from their personal experiences, the surrounding nature, they weave their unfolding narratives into their songs. In addition to their original compositions, they also draw upon the works of Irish writers and poets such as Oscar Wilde, James Joyce as well as Celtic Mythology.

They have performed at festivals and venues such as the James Joyce Centre, the Bloomsday Festival and the Cobblestone Pub. In February 2025 they performed at the Scene + Heard Festival at Smock Alley Theatre with their performance ‘Shaving Ysbaddaden’, a song cycle based on the Welsh tale Culhwch & Olwen.
